SUNDAY
“Our first series of editions, ‘sunday’, consists of a an A1page, folded to A4. Accompanied by a signed and numbered colophon page, bundled in an envelope. A foldable exhibition space. To rethink a work, to make an adaptation,… A space where the folds made, decide the architecture of it. ‘sunday’ appears 5 or 6 times a year.
In 2011, MOREpublishers starts with a second series of editions entitled ‘hors série’.
‘sunday’ editions are published on Sundays. A day when most things are closed, a pause, a day of rest, to take a brake. And besides that, ‘Sunday’ is one of Sonic Youth’s best songs…”
EXHIBITION
“… they want to do a group show. They invited us, as MOREpublishers, to curate this exhibition.
To do so, we had some discussions with other artists we work(ed) with, to search in which way we can do this, in a way that is corresponding to our activities and our way of working. Through discussion we decided to work on all the printed matter that comes with exhibitions. Posters, announcements, cards, name cards, labels, etc. Lots of artists have a really specific approach towards this material. Printed matter in the periphery of an actual exhibition, sometimes as an work on its own…
So, we wanted to work on an exhibition that is focusing on this material. To search how this material, that was time-related (to a specific event) can be charged with an other value. This material to make up a new exhibition. To make an exhibition that is basically composed by other exhibitions. …. (*)
